Europe’s largest, free to attend, Seafood Festival is taking place this 14th and 15th July in the beautiful harbour town of Weymouth.
The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival is a wonder of delicious seafood, top chefs include; Sophie Michell, Neil Rankin, Ed Baines, the much loved Duncan Lucas, CJ Jackson from Billingsgate and Pete Murt from Rick Steins. Fantastic kids entertainment includes crabbing and slime making and not forgetting sunshine and champagne – all set along Weymouth’s historic harbour, part of the Jurassic Coast.
The festival is now in it’s 11th year and over 50,000 visitors flock to the harbour from across the country. The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival raises funds for The Fishermen’s Mission – a charity that dedicates its time to supporting the fishermen and their families here in the UK. As well as The Fishermen’s Mission the festival is dedicated to sustainability and educating visitors of the importance of sustainability in fishing but also in consumption of seafood – this year vendors have committed to using recyclable containers when serving food.
