Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill

Expect goosebumps at Wyndham’s Theatre – as Billie Holliday’s last set at the seedy Emerson’s Bar and Grill in 1959 Philadelphia is recreated in Britain from 17 June. Audra McDonald transforms into Holliday, reprising her Tour de Force Broadway role for which she won a record-breaking sixth Tony award. Singing Holliday’s classics like What a Little Moonlight Can Do in between an autobiographical monologue, McDonald searingly captures the jazz legend’s distinctive voice and tumultuous life.

Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill, 17 June 2017 to 9 September 2017, Wyndham’s Theatre, Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 0DA, 0844 482 5120
