The Chesterfield Mayfair’s brand-new afternoon tea is inspired by traditional sweet shop flavours; think liquorice allsorts, flying saucers, love hearts and lollipops! Each of the pastries and cakes included in the afternoon tea has been created to take guests on a walk down memory lane, with a macaron love heart and peanut butter cup included in the sweet treats. Guests are also invited to raid the hotel’s sweet stash of everyone’s old school favourites to take home. FOR PAMPERED POOCHES AT EGERTON HOUSE
For those who wish to take their four-legged friends along with them, the afternoon tea at The Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge invites guests to bring their VIPs (Very Important Pets) along with them to enjoy the Doggy Afternoon Tea. Canine guests will dine on an array of treats including meatloaf, homemade dog biscuits, and dog-friendly ice cream. Two-legged guests can enjoy The Egerton’s sophisticated afternoon tea too, with a traditional afternoon tea priced at £45; or a Champagne Afternoon Tea priced at £62. AL FRESCO AFTERNOON TEA IN KENSINGTON
As the heatwave in London shows no sign of slowing down, why not enjoy an afternoon tea al fresco? The Milestone Hotel in Kensington overlooks the palatial Kensington Palace Gardens, and is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine whilst dining on some delicious fingers sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. GET THE ROYAL TREATMENT AT THE RUBENS
Being London’s closest hotel to Buckingham Palace, The Rubens at The Palace offers incomparable views of the Royal Mews. Guests can sit by the window in the hotel’s Palace Lounge and see the to-ing and fro-ing of Palace life as they sip on champagne and dig in to the hotel’s Royal Afternoon Tea, with treats inspired by monarchs throughout the ages. Guests can dine on gin and tonic cheesecake, English rose macarons, and lemon curd and poppy seed cupcakes whilst enjoying the royal view. HOMEGROWN, LOCAL TREATS AT SUMMER LODGE IN DORSET
Throughout the month of August, Summer Lodge Country House Hotel in the Dorset countryside will be offering a special Garden Afternoon Tea. The afternoon tea will be created using produce grown on-site in the hotel’s kitchen garden, or locally sourced from producers in the Dorset region. A drinks menu will complement the afternoon tea, with cocktails using local Dorset sparkling wine. Sweet treats include gooseberry fool, lemon posset, elderflower jelly, blueberry cupcakes, raspberry eclairs, strawberry and white chocolate tartlets whilst savoury sandwiches prepared on local, hand-made bread will be filled with Wookey Hole cheddar, local farm eggs and handmade chutneys.
