Bonnie Prince Charles and the Jacobites exhibition

A royal rebel is in the spotlight at the National Museum of Scotland, as an exhibition opening 23 June unravels the myths of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his fellow Jacobites aka the Stuarts who tried to wrestle the British throne from the Hanoverians. Paintings, weapons, Highland costumes and more track their story from Rome to Scotland to Paris including Bonnie Prince Charlie’s silver travelling canteen strewn on the Culloden battlefield where the Jacobites met their humiliating defeat in 1745.
