Arundel Castle is this year celebrating the 950th anniversary of its initial construction. Visitors to the Castle this July can enjoy its most hotly anticipated event – the week-long Jousting and Medieval Tournament (25-30 July). With knights charging in from around the world, rivalries are expected to be fiercer than ever. Six time reigning champions, the Kingdom of England, will be eager to snatch back victory from the grasps of the Kingdom of Norway which put in a spectacular performance last year to be named champion on its debut. Hot on its heels will be 2016’s runner up, The Kingdom of Poland, as well as the Kingdom of France which, after nine years of competing, is yet to triumph at the competition, which is the longest tournament of its kind in the world. With knights mounted on beautiful steeds and dressed in gleaming, full plate armour, this is a spectacle not to be missed!
Medieval Tournament is on 25-30 July at Arundel Castle, Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 9AB
